Helping Members Improve Their Lives for 70+ Years

Fairport, NY:  The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that The Summit Federal Credit Union has been named its January Business of the Month.
The Summit opened its Perinton branch, located at 665 Moseley Road, Fairport, in June 2013. The Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned and operated exclusively by its members. There are no outside stockholders who require a return on their investment to drive up operating costs, which enables The Summit to offer its members more benefits like low fees, competitive loan rates and higher dividends on their savings. The Summit also provides custom-tailored products and services including mobile banking, courtesy bill pay, anti-fraud text alerts, life insurance and foreign currency exchange.
In business since 1941, The Summit currently has nine branches in the Greater Rochester area, as well as branches in Syracuse, Buffalo, Cortland and Seneca Falls. The Credit Union remains strong and continues to thrive today, operating by the same principles that were first established by its founders more than 70 years ago … to help members improve their lives. The Summit has 80,000+ active members, $725+ million in assets, 500+ member companies and 230+ employees.

In addition to being active in the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce,
The Summit supports area non-profit organizations and community events throughout Rochester, including the March of Dimes, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and many others.  Chamber President Paul West pointed to The Summit's on-going community support, “We see the correlation between business longevity and giving back to the local community.  Our Chamber is fortunate to have these mature business role models for our more recent start-ups in Fairport, Perinton, Bushnell's Basin, and Egypt.”
