From our Chamber President

Dear Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we hope this newsletter finds you and your families well and that you are taking precautions to keep it that way. While getting through this pandemic remains the top priority, the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce understands the unprecedented stress our business membership is under.

First, I’m sure you have heard a lot about the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and we are listing the most pertinent links on our news page listed below:

https://fairportperintonchamber.org/?q=news/updated-330-message-chamber-...

As of today, the best overview I have seen describing the programs within the CARES Act comes directly from the US Senate's website listed below:

https://www.sbc.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/guide-to-the-cares-act

I would advise speaking with your bank, credit union, or financial institution to seek answers to your questions.

Next, we are also looking to help share the status of your business and to help pass the message throughout our community. One way to increase visibility for each of our businesses is through Facebook. We have pinned (remains on top of the page) a post to the top of our Facebook page at

https://www.facebook.com/fpchamber/

Please use COMMENT to give us an update on your business. When you want to change your update, hover over the far right side of your comment box and you will see the option to "edit." Click. After editing, remember to click on "enter" to save your update.

We look forward to a healthy reunion in the near future.

Jim Bilotta
Fairport-Perinton Chamber President

Elderwood Village at Fairport - March Business of the Month

What do we know about Elderwood, in addition to the ability to create very tasty omelette stations? (Those who attended the Chamber Coffee at Elderwood are in-the-know.) First, we celebrated, in COVID style, Elderwood as our Chamber's March Business of the Month. When you see media stories covering their award on the Chamber's Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn platforms, please COMMENT and SHARE, since we cannot be face-to-face to share congratulatory wishes.

Second, they have a Chamber-active Community Relations Coordinator, Chelsea Crawford. In addition to attending and hosting Chamber events, Chelsea reaches out into the community to make sure we all know about this close-knit senior living community in our own area. Elderwood also belongs to the Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly (GRAPE) and the Alzheimer's Association. Plus, they are a sponsor of a variety of local initiatives. Read more to learn what is developing at Elderwood.

Estate Planning During COVID-19

Chamber Board of Directors and MCCM Law Firm Partner Daniel Williford pointed out in a recent article that New York State has loosened the requirement on notarization during our COVID-19 distancing measures. Through video conferencing, a Notary Public can witness and notarize your signature. All of the McConville Considine Cooman & Morin attornies are Notaries Public. They can  sign a Last Will and Testament by having two disinterested witnesses present and sign an affidavit in front of the respective lawyer as the Notary Public.
