Step Up for Seniors - Fairport Baptist Homes

STEP UP FOR SENIORS!
WHERE:
Start & Finish at Fairport Baptist Homes, 4646 Nine Mile Point Rd, Fairport.
The walk will take us through the village of Fairport to the canal. We’ll have 1 mile and 2+ mile routes and rest stops with water along the way, rain or shine!
WHEN:
Check-in begins at 9 a.m., October 5, 2019
Walk will begin at 10 a.m. Refreshments, kids activities, raffles and entertainment during and after walk.
HOW:
Registration is $20 (includes t-shirt).
Kids 12 and under FREE.
After you register, you’ll receive your own fundraising web page where you can ask friends and family to join you, either by walking or making a donation to Fairport Baptist Homes. Fundraising is optional but qualifies you to win great prizes!

Fairport HS Career Exploration Center

The Fairport High School Career Exploration Center maintains a "Job Board" throughout the school year. If you are interested in hiring a teen to support your business, please email me the name of your business, contact information, hourly wage and approximate number of hours per week.

Through our NYS approved career internship program, unpaid interns are able to earn high school credit while gaining valuable career experience. Internship hours can be as few as 54 hours over the course of a semester (20 weeks or less). The students take one seminar class and maintain a journal through the experience as well.

Nominate a Human Service Volunteer through Edge Advertising Group

Edge Advertising Group is planning the Federation of Social Workers 15th Annual Human Service Worker of the Year Awards luncheon. The Federation of Social Workers is accepting nominations from the community for a variety of human service awards for both individuals and organizations. Categories include: Community Non-Profit Organization of the Year Award, John L. Seebach Volunteer of the Year Award, Corporate Human Service Contributor of the Year, and others. Previous honorees have come from a variety of areas of human service, including: healthcare, education, law enforcement, social work, entertainment, volunteering, as well as exceptional families and youth contributors. Corporate and non-profit organizations are also honored. The deadline for submitting nominations is Monday, September 23, 2019.
