Importance of Facebook to Chamber Members

  • increase local search results landing on your website
  • increase business visibility
  • increase your Chamber connections to events and members

 

Session Preparation

  • visit Facebook.com/FPChamber and click “Like” (upper right quadrant).  After clicking, you will see “Liked.”

 

How to Engage with the Chamber Page

  • Review the posts and COMMENT and SHARE
    • click down arrow on the far right of the top blue bar and select who you want to use the page as (repeat (business/personal) - go back and choose another user role)
    • click COMMENT and SHARE
      • try to include additional Chamber business names in the post when applicable; if they have a Facebook page, the name should pop-up as you type – click it
      • include keywords to attract search engines
      • use a relevant url
  • Engage with posts on the Events page (far left column)
    • check your planned attendance
    • list whom you have invited by name and business (type and click the revealed name)
    • after attending, return to COMMENT
      • reflections
      • photos
      • video
  • Send information to fairportperintonchamber@gmail.com to post on all communication channels

 

Facebook Best Practices

  • Profile Photo – logo space – click to add a description with keywords
  • Cover Photo – click to add a description with keywords
  • include a url with every post possible
  • About - optimize (increase search results) your page with complete information, using keywords: product/service; locations
  • include longevity in About
  • add Events
  • rearrange the tabs on the left in Manage Tabs/Edit Page, placing the most important on top
  • video earns the most views; photos next – add descriptions
  • check Notifications, respond, and check Select All and Mark All as Read
  • review customer and organization pages of importance and COMMENT & SHARE from See Pages Feed on right side of Page

  • review Insights
  • publish in Publishing Tools

 

Facebook Tricks

Clean up your post for easy reading.  When you include a link, once populated, erase the link from the post.

 

Have a photo and also want to share a link?  First, add the photo, then add the link.
