Business of the Month

April, 2017

Entrepreneurs Barbara and Mark Figura began their business ownership in Fairport 14 years ago and have served Fairport businesses and the business community as a whole through active Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce membership.  The Chamber is honoring their business, Infogistics IT, as the April 2017 Business of the Month.

Back in 2002, Barbara and Mark Figura purchased their first business which focused on printer sales and service.  Four years later, in 2006, their entrepreneurial ambitions moved them forward when they purchased a second business providing Information Technology (IT) services.  In 2013, Infogistics IT was created, merging their two businesses under one name.

The Figuras have had a long history with the Fairport-Perinton Chamber, including Mark’s service as a Board Member and Chamber Treasurer.  For several years, Mark was responsible for coordinating Fairport’s Fourth of July celebration, the Chamber’s largest annual event, which now includes a road race, parade, and Party-in-the-Park with live music by the Skycoasters, food trucks and other popular refreshment stands, children’s inflatables and face painting.

Kellie Wright, Chamber Board Member, interviews the Chamber’s businesses for monthly recognition.  She posed the question to Barbara and Mark, “What business experience stands out in your minds?”  The Figuras recounted stepping in to assist a long-term customer when all of the executives were out-of-town at a weekend conference.  The customer has a 24-hour operation and an employee had contacted their manager to report that all of their computer systems were down.  Management contacted Barbara and Mark at home that weekend and they immediately dispatched a technician to take care of the problem which got the customer’s employees back to work.  The customer expressed much appreciation for the responsiveness of Infogistics IT which saved them time and money.

In addition to Chamber involvement, Infogistics IT has hosted a recycling event to benefit the Perinton Food Shelf.  They also collect empty toner cartridges to benefit the Rochester Prep Elementary School and St. Agnes School in Avon.

Chamber President Paul West stated, “As a Chamber, we like to place a spotlight on local business success.  The business story is an extra plus when it includes examples of business community-role models, actively donating their time, talent, and treasures to the Chamber and throughout its business membership.”
