Business of the Month

June, 2018

Perinton’s tys, LLP has gained recognition as the June Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month!

The leadership behind tys, LLP involves Tim Shortsleeve, Glen Thomas, Chris York, and Tobin Moon, who started their business in 2010 with the mission to change people’s lives and work hard to become their clients’ trusted business advisors.  Locally, through the leadership of Fairport’s Tim Shortsleeve, tys is known for its individual and business tax accounting, tax planning, consulting, and bookkeeping services.  Their expert niche is within the construction industry, involving bankers and bonding agent resources.  They also serve individuals, to families, to businesses.

Tim Shortsleeve got his start by working as a partner in an accounting firm selling services, consulting processes, and training accounting firms to go paperless. The partners at tys, LLP, were clients at one time, before they decided to partner up. Now, they have 14 total employees and in addition to the tys office in Perinton, additional offices are located in California and South Carolina.

An impressive feat was accomplished when tys went paperless. Now, they teach clients how to do this efficiently with no copier, no paper files, and no file cabinets! Shortsleeve speaks all over the country as a coach of process- improvement strategic planning for employee engagement, accounting, and taxes.

Outside of the office, in addition to active membership in the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce, Shortsleeve is also an active member of the Webster Chamber of Commerce, serves as Treasurer at RochesterWorks, and holds a position on the Advisory Committee at Fairport Central Schools.

Chamber President Jim Bilotta expressed thanks to Tim Shortsleeve, “The past two years, Tim has co-hosted our annual membership meeting at the Monroe Golf Club.  Our members have enjoyed networking with each other in their inviting ballrooms and feasting on the delicious food served at the Club!  We appreciate Tim sharing this great resource with us.”

You too can attend the next Chamber event and personally ask Tim about his paperless-challenge process.  Check out the next event at:  http://fairportperintonchamber.org/?q=events-list
