Business of the Month

October, 2018

From serving Penfield, New York educators to 15,000 members, Family First Federal Credit Union is now a full-service financial institution and was recognized as the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce October Business of the Month.

In 2019, Family First Credit Union will be celebrating 50 years of service!  After their start of being a credit union for the Penfield school employees, they became a Community Credit Union in 2000.  Now they have four branch offices in Monroe and Wayne Counties.  A new branch will soon be open in Greece.  In all of these offices, they specialize in business lending.  Both business and mortgage lending is processed and serviced locally by Family First.  The Credit Union provides jobs for 60 employees!

Family First Credit Union will be celebrating 50 years in 2019! Beginning by serving Penfield School District teachers out of a living room, they now have five branches throughout Monroe County, recently opening one in Greece as they expand to the west side. They have all the products and services of larger financial institutions, including mortgages and small business banking options. Decisions are made locally, and all accounts are serviced in their offices, where they currently have a staff of 60.

Membership in the Fairport-Perinton Chamber is one of many community ties established by Family First Federal Credit Union.  In fact, the Credit Union belongs to six Chambers:  East Rochester, Webster, Fairport-Perinton, Henrietta, Penfield, and Rochester!  They serve the greater community through fall and holiday family festivals, donate to local food cupboards, and support a home for homeless mothers who are expecting.

Chamber Board of Directors and Co-Owner of Raise the Bar Designs, Kellie Wright added, “Our Fairport-Perinton Chamber exists to network - - making local businesses visible.  Family First Credit Union is a giver and receiver of that process.  They hosted an After Hours, which we hold monthly at members’ places of business.  Also, Credit Union employee Jean Sweet, celebrating 34 years in the field of customer lending, is a regular event participant too.”
