Business of the Month

January, 2019

A local third-generation business has been named the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce’s January Business of the Month.  The Burgundy Basin owners proudly accepted the honor.

As the third-generation owners, Mike Clarcq and Carl Arena have continued to move the Burgundy Basin into the future.  The business was originally opened in 1956 by Carl’s grandfather.  The next generation stepped up in 1973, to steer the business.  Mike and Carl took over in 2006 and have further developed the venue.  Over 80 people have jobs at Burgundy Basin.  Clarcq added, “We are fortunate to have very loyal, long-time key staff members. Their tenure greatly benefits the quality and reliable service we can deliver.

The Burgundy Basin has extended its community service affiliations beyond the Fairport-Perinton Chamber. They hold Board positions at Our Lady of Mercy and for the New York State Restaurant Association.  Plus, they actively serve the Fairport Youth Packers Football organization.

Chamber Board member Kellie Wright, and co-owner of her own multi-generational business, Raise The Bar Designs, LLC, gave a strong testimony for the Burgundy Basin, “Our Chamber loves to host events at the Burgundy Basin. The venue is spacious, allowing for networking with our event attendees.  We also like the fact that they can accommodate overflow crowds easily. Parking is plentiful.  And best of all, the food is always so tasty!  The ownership and staff are so accommodating too.”
