Katie Castro, Ameriprise is Business of the Month

Ameriprise Advisor, Katie Castro has been chosen as the December Business of the Month by the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce. Katie has been a financial advisor since 2008 and specializes in divorce and elder transition. She also has expertise in managing the costs of higher education, debt management, and savings strategies. Katie is a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. For the past 2 years, Katie has been the Chair of the Chamber's Membership Committee and recently was elected Vice President of the Chamber. Outside of the Chamber, Katie serves the community through Foundation for Women's Financial Education, The Advisory Panel on Successful Aging, Girl Scouts, PTA and Penfield Youth Sports. Marsh Road Bridge Closes for Repairs

The NYSDOT will be making a repair to the Marsh Road bridge by Route 96 in Bushnell's Basin. Work begins January 2018. This repair is expected to run through June 2018. There are several other convenient options available to get to the Burgundy Basin Inn from Route 31.

ESL Ribbon Cutting 12/1/17

ESL Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of its 21st branch, and first Fairport location at 1271 Fairport Road, Fairport, NY. ESL President & CEO Faheem Masood and elected officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new branch. "Our new Fairport branch provides convenient access to ESL's personal banking, business banking, and wealth management services to customers, who live and work in the Greater Rochester area. RAMP Releases New Album

Rochester Area Music Project (RAMP) owners (father and son) Garry and Marshall Manuel just released an album titled Sonsup. The material can best be described as acoustic oriented rock framed with loads of vocal harmonies. The songs were all penned by group members except for the Beatle cover, I'll Be Back. The recording engineering was done under RAMP with Marshall as the recording engineer for the project. Marshall holds a degree that focused on audio engineering from the New England School of Communications. He also teaches recording classes at RAMP. Lessons offered at RAMP include Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, Voice, Recording, Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute. To top it off, nearly all the products used on the album can be purchased at RAMP! Fairport Senior Community Has New Name

Local senior living community, Maplewood Estates, is under new management. Their new name is Solstice Senior Living at Fairport. This new national joint venture is between NorthStar Healthcare Income, Inc., (NHI), the property owner and Integral Senior Living, a premier provider of senior living management services. "Living and working at Fairport will only get better as we introduce new activities and culinary programs," said Thomas Cappon, Solstice's regional director of Sales and Marketing supporting Fairport. "So, aside from a new name, residents, associates, family members and community friends should have the same day-to-day experiences." Read more.....

Perinton Hills Chiropractic Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary

Drs. Maria Zalone and Kevin Sommer are a husband and wife chiropractic team at Perinton Hills Chiropractic, celebrating 10 years in business. Since 2007, PHC has continued to grow, increasing both physical size and services. Now in a new, larger office, Perinton Hills Chiropractic also offers clinical nutrition, licensed massage therapy and Graston technique services. The doctors are passionate about helping people to decrease pain after an injury with hands-on chiropractic care, as well as injury prevention with Wellness Care. They treat all types of spine-related injuries. Both have additional certification in spinal trauma and whiplash from the Spinal Research Institute of San Diego and extensive post-graduate work in nutrition. New Sparkling Wine from Casa Larga Vineyards

Casa Larga Vineyards is releasing a new wine. The 2017 Muscat Ottonel Pétillant Naturel is a sparkling wine, fermented naturally from Muscat grapes harvested in 2017. The wine represents both a new wine in the portfolio for Casa Larga, as well as a different approach to winemaking. Muscat Ottonel was one of the first grape varietals planted in the vineyards on Turk Hill Road in Fairport when the winery began in 1974. The Muscat grapes are the first to be picked during fall harvest, and the 2017 Muscat Ottonel Pétillant Naturel was also the first of the year's harvest to be bottled - just 10 days after harvest.
