TOWN CLERK JANELLE REED ANNOUNCES MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY CENTER COMING TO PERINTON
Perinton Town Clerk Janelle Reed hosted the Rochester Regional Health Mobile Mammography Center on Saturday, October 29th, at the Perinton Community Center. She also worked with the Pines of Perinton to provide free transportation to the event.
If you were unable to attend, Janelle reminds us, “A 15-minute breast cancer screening could save your life. It’s covered by most insurance providers, and New York State may be able to provide assistance to those without insurance."
October has been Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), one in every eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime and mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat.

How CDFIs and Banks Work Together to Help Small Businesses Grow
When you opened your first business checking account, you started a very important relationship for your business. Staying connected with your commercial bank can help you find the best banking products to keep your business growing.
They’re likely your first stop when you need a small business loan. But if you don’t meet the bank’s qualification criteria, your banker may refer you to another type of lender.
This is where Community Development Financial Institutions, or CDFIs, come in. They’re here to help you get the small business funding you need today so you can build a healthy and beneficial commercial-banking relationship in the long run.
What are CDFIs?
CDFIs are government-verified, nonprofit institutions with a mission to serve small businesses. They provide loans to small business owners who don’t meet the credit qualifications for conventional commercial loans through their banks.
Jim Bilotta, Chamber President, can help you with CDFIs through Pursuit Lending.

A Patient's Story: Ronald doesn't remember anything.
In June, Catherine found Ronald sitting in his chair mumbling, incoherent, and unable to stand or walk. She called 9-1-1 right away; the call taker was wonderful, calming Catherine down and staying on the line until Perinton Ambulance arrived.
The crew stabilized Ronald, loaded him in the ambulance, and transported him to the hospital, where it took a few days for an E. coli infection to be discovered as the source of Ronald's condition. Ronald was very sick for several days. E. coli can have lasting effects such as hemolytic uremic syndrome, a life-threatening form of kidney failure. He doesn't remember anything about the event.
Catherine is extremely grateful for the quick response, saying "they did their jobs." She also said she and her husband have always supported Perinton Ambulance financially, even though they'd never used their services. This is a community service that should be there for everyone to use if needed."
