Breast Cancer Support from Embrace Your Sisters
Embrace Your Sisters has been serving the Finger Lakes Region since 2007 by providing short-term emergency financial support to people faced with breast cancer. Assistance from Embrace Your Sisters can help ease the financial difficulties of unpaid bills and helps patients focus on their health and family. Assistance from Embrace Your Sisters can help patients and their families dealing with mounting medical expenses. This emergency funding can also help with rent/mortgages, utilities and other necessary expenses in order to improve and maintain the quality of their lives during their illness. In 2019, Embrace Yours Sisters distributed over $50,000 to 40 people undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Embrace Your Sisters has expanded their service area to include, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Yates, Allegany, Schuyler, Chemung, Tioga, Tompkins, and Cayuga Counties.
One of the unique attributes of Embrace Your Sisters is that it is a 501 c3 non-profit organization that is comprised of a Board of Directors who volunteer their time and efforts to serving others. Embrace Your Sisters hosts two annual events to raise funds, but COVID has changed those plans for 2020. The success of Embrace Your Sisters can only happen with the continued support from the communities they serve. A person going through breast cancer treatment should not have to chose, to either pay for treatment or pay for housing or other necessities.

For parents with children under 18 years of age, it is vital to include a guardianship clause in your Will to legally designate someone to care for the person and property of your children when you pass. Getting estate planning documents into place is also not as difficult and time consuming as people think.
