Long-Term Care Planning Seminar
How to Plan for a Long Life...
A presentation offered by McConville Considine Cooman & Morin, P.C., Alliance Advisory Group and Heather Heights Senior Living is scheduled for August.
Planning now can make your retirement years more secure and also provide peace of mind to your family. Learn what you can do now to plan for the long-term and prepare for issues that longevity often brings.
Many individuals never expect to be faced with the reality of needing home care or the possibility of needing skilled nursing. Planning for the possibility of long-term care gives you and your family time to learn about services available within your community. This need is separated into two areas: pre-planning and crisis planning.
Age brings wisdom, but it also brings challenges and risks you didn't face when you were younger. Planning for a long, happy, healthy life requires addressing these challenges and risks - financially, legally, and in your care plans.

Applications Being Accepted for Emergency Financial Support for Breast Cancer Patients
Our member Embrace Your Sisters (EYS) provides emergency financial support for breast cancer patients across 13 Upstate Counties: Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates.
When breast cancer patients are unable to work during their illness or treatment, this adds a financial toll to an already difficult struggle. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EYS evaluates applicants for financial assistance. When chosen, EYS will pay outstanding bills, directly to the invoicing organization. These monies do not need to be repaid.

Do you own a Business Entity? Important Federal Requirements To Act Upon
If you own all or part of any type of business entity or exercise substantial control over any type of business entity, the federal Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) likely applies to you.
Beginning January 1, 2024, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and corporations are responsible for filing Beneficial Ownership Information (“BOI”) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”) of the US Department of the Treasury through its On-Line Portal.
The Beneficial Ownership Information Report (“BOIR”) Filing Instructions, the Online BOIR Filing Method: Step-by-Step Instructions and information about Substantial Control are available to help guide you through the filing process.
The FinCEN website offers a host of other reference materials and guidance for BOI filing, including: Small entity compliance guide; Frequently Asked Questions; Quick Reference | FinCEN.gov.
Don’t delay in submitting your BOI information to FinCEN. Under the FinCEN requirements, reporting companies created or registered to do business before January 1, 2024 must file by January 1, 2025. Entities created or registered after January 1, 2024 only have “90 calendar days after receiving actual or public notice that their company’s creation or registration is effective, to file their initial BOI reports.”
Chamber member McConville Considine Cooman and Morin, P.C. strongly encourage you to register with FinCEN before the filing deadlines. Failure to comply with the CTA can result in a $500-per-day penalty (up to $10,000) and possible criminal penalties.
If you have questions relating to the Federal Corporate Transparency Act or the New York State LLC Transparency Act, i.e., how they might affect your entity or potential planning opportunities, contact business attorneys, Michael F. McConville at mmcconville@mccmlaw.com or 585-512-3520 or Letty Laskowski at llaskowski@mccmlaw.com or 585-512-3538.
