The Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that The Summit Federal Credit Union has been named its January Business of the Month. The Summit opened its Perinton branch, located at 665 Moseley Road, Fairport, in June 2013. The Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned and operated exclusively by its members. . The Chamber is looking for 1 more member to participate in FACET's Adult Spelling Bee on February 26th, 2016! The event is a tournament style spelling bee consisting of multiple rounds of competition between teams until only one is left.

The Perinton Volunteer Ambulance Corps hosted an event for the Fairport-Perinton Chamber. Ambulance President Jon LeRoy shared the organization's history and what tax dollars are doing for community residents.
The Perinton Volunteer Ambulance Corps was founded 50 years ago on April 30, 1965. It began as a project for the Lions Club, but became a part-time, volunteer based service on September 1 of that year. They provided basic life-support service for the residents of the Village of Fairport and the Town of Perinton. In the beginning, the service was only available evenings and weekends, but they expanded into a full 24/7 service by the late 1970s. They maintained 100% all-volunteer crew coverage for 20 years.
The Tool Thrift Shop marks five years in business with an Anniversary Celebration on January 22 at 10 AM. The all-volunteer run Tool Thrift Shop raised $250,000 to benefit Senior Options for Independence (SOFI) which provides senior support services in the Perinton community. SOFI is a partnership with Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council and Fairport Baptist Homes.

The Chamber's annual holiday party at Woodcliff Hotel & Spa was a success! Attendees enjoyed cocktails at the annual Fairport-Perinton Chamber Holiday party at the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa. The event resulted in several new members joining the Chamber. Christine and John Forken from Independent Group, also known as IGC Plans attended. Members like Darren Miller of CUSTOM 100 and Mark Figura from lnfogistics IT, as well as John Pecora from Keller Williams and Donna Favitta from Ashby Consulting got the chance to catch up.

The 2015 Business Expo was a success! Thank you to Casa Lara for hosting! The annual event is a time to visually share local businesses in Fairport, Perinton, Bushnell's Basin, and Egypt.
